Worldwide Asset eXchange (WAX) is a decentralized platform and digital asset marketplace. Its main aim is to allow for easy creation of one’s own marketplace of virtual goods without the requirement to invest in infrastructure or security in advance. The platform was created by the founders of OPSkins which operates as a global virtual market for online gaming assets. Based on this, Wax is currently mainly focused on this type of assets and their easy tokenization and exchange for cryptos. WAX is the native cryptocurrency token of the WAX platform. Prior to its launch, the platform recorded minimal on-chain transaction, only to have their numbers grow to nearly 5.6 million per day in late 2018.
